Terms of use

Flagglobe is a free game. These terms are short because there is little to regulate: no purchases, no user content beyond a board name, no account required.

Last updated 19 September 2026.

Using the game

You may play as much as you like, on any device, without an account. You may link to any page of the site and embed nothing: the pages refuse to load inside frames on other sites. You may not use automated tools to play rounds, submit results or scrape the site at a rate that a person could not sustain.

Accounts and the Daily board

Signing in with Google is optional. It syncs your records across devices and puts your Daily result on the public board under the name you choose. The name must be 3–20 characters — letters, digits, spaces, dots, underscores and hyphens — and must not impersonate someone else or be offensive; a name that breaks this rule, and any row that could not have been played honestly, may be removed without notice. The board is public: anyone can see the names, times and accuracy on it.

Content and data

Country outlines come from Natural Earth and the flags of the world from the flag-icons set, both under permissive licences; the site's own drawings of regional flags are released to the public domain. The texts on this site — the country cards, hints, map essays and guides — are written for Flagglobe. You may quote them with a link back; you may not republish them wholesale.

Facts are checked before they are published and corrected when a mistake is reported, but the site does not promise that every fact is current or complete. Borders and status of territories follow the data sources, with the exceptions described on the about page; they are a game setting, not a political statement.

Advertising

The game is paid for by ads served by Google between rounds and, when you choose, in exchange for a hint. What the ad code collects and how to withdraw consent is described in the privacy policy. Clicking ads to earn hints faster is not a thing: a hint is granted for watching an ad to the end, not for clicking it.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. It may be unavailable, change or be withdrawn at any time; records may be lost if a browser clears its storage. Nothing here is a professional or educational certification of anything.

Changes and contact

These terms may change; the date at the top moves when they do, and material changes are listed on the updates page. Questions go to the address on the contact page.
